1969 Chevrolet Camaro SS from Vampire Diaries

Flipping through the TV channels one evening, I caught a Camaro from a scene in CW's Vampire Diaries. I don't watch the show regularly, so I had to look it up to see its year and variation. The car turned out to be a 1969 Camaro SS Convertible. It was driven by one of the leads, Damon Salvatore, the bad boy between the two brothers.

Fitting, I suppose. The bad boy driving a muscle car. Reminds me of another CW show, Supernatural, where the bad boy in that show drives a Chevrolet Impala.

Interestingly enough, 1969 was the last year of the first generation Camaro. The rear-wheel drive 2-door coupes were brought to market by Chevrolet to compete with the Ford Mustang in the growing market of young baby boomers.

Ferrari Testarossa from Miami Vice the 80s TV Show

The 80s turned out some pretty cool shows that had cool cars.  One of the best ones in terms of both car and show is Miami Vice.  Detective Sonny Crockett drove a Ferrari Testarossa as part of his cover as a high roller drug dealer in Miami.  The car was used so often that it became an 80s icon.

The Testarossa was in production between 1984 to 1996 while the show ran from 1984 to 1990.

The Ferrari Testarossa is a classic car nowadays.  Its unique look, mainly due to the streamlined grills on the side, is remembered very well by both car and TV show fans.  Check out a test drive video below:

Subaru Impreza WRX Police Car from Eureka

I'm a big fan of Eureka and saw Jo Lupo driving a Subaru Impreza as a police squad car in one of the episodes.  I thought it was pretty cool since her boss Jack Carter drove a Jeep, something typically seen as cop vehicles for small towns in various shows and movies.  Nice to see a rally car once in awhile especially in a show where high tech typically goes bad.

The Subaru Impreza has been on sale since the early 90s.  It's a popular car among young men because it has a certain ruggedness to it.  After all, Subaru is the maker of well-loved, BRAT, a compact 4WD utility-recreational car.

The Impreza WRX is an AWD and one of the most affordable for its performance.  Some owners of the Impreza like to abuse it just like these guys in the video below.  Watch as these guys drift with their Impreza in the snow:
