1957 Ford Thunderbird from Sin City

In Sin City, Dwight (played by Clive Owen) took to the task of hiding Jack Rafferty's (played by Benicio Del Toro) body before the mob and police find out that the hero cop, also known as Iron Jack, was killed by the "girls". It will be very bad for the "girls" if the police discovered what happened.  So Dwight planned to hide Jack's body in the tar pits.

"Get me a hardtop with a decent engine and make sure it's got a big trunk," said Dwight so that he may leave immediately with Jack's body.  Perhaps he should have asked for a full tank of gas as well because he ended up pushing the car to the pits when it ran out of gas early.


Amusing thing about the scene was that the T-bird's trunk was not big enough to stash the bodies of Jack and his friends.  Thus, deadly little Miho (Devon Aoki) had to chop them up in pieces in order to make them fit in the trunk.  When the car ran out of gas, Dwight had to push the car with five dead bodies inside.

The '57 Thunderbird had a minor role in the movie.  It ended up getting blown up and sinking in the tar pit, but not before Jack Rafferty's severed head was taken by mercenaries hired to retrieve proof that Iron Jack was dead.

Also, Dwight looked down on the car and even called it a heap of junk or something to that effect as he found out that he'd be using it for transport.  I thought that was a little unfair since the '57 T-bird is a classic luxury car.  Powerful too with a standard 312 cu in (5.1 L) V8 producing 245 horsepower.  It's a cruising car and a nice one at that.

This is the second post for T-bird, by the way.  The first one is a 1966 Ford Thunderbird convertible from Thelma and Louise.  Much different body, but still a cruising car.
